Scholarship Program

January 1, 2008

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Once again in 2008, Laborers' Local Union No. 894 is pleased to announce a scholarship program for dependents of full-time active members who were in good standing for two years as of January 1, 2008. Ten $1,000 scholarships will be awarded this summer to dependent high school seniors planning to enroll in a fully accredited four-year college or university upon high school graduation in 2008, as well as current dependent college undergraduates.

We have contracted with Cleveland Scholarship Programs, Inc. (CSP) located in Cleveland, Ohio, to administer our Local 894's Scholarship Program. CSP was founded 41 years ago and manages scholarship funds for local and national companies, organizations, and private clubs. By choosing CSP, we are assured that our scholarship applications will be evaluated professionally, accurately, and without bias.

To apply for the scholarship, applications may be obtained beginning February 1, 2008, by calling CSP at 1-800-633-3243. When you call to request an application for your dependent, please have both the Local 894 member's Social Security number and the dependent's Social Security number available. Eligible applications must be received by CSP no later than May 2, 2008.

Attached is a brief Program Description, which will help you decide if your dependent may be eligible for the scholarship. Should you have any questions regarding this program, please call Linda Collins, Administered Funds, at Cleveland Scholarship Programs, Inc., at 1-800-633-3243.
